Why Your Lash Extensions are Falling Out

Girl! You pay a lot for these gorgeous things on those gorgeous eyes so QUIT IT!

Love you loads but seriously stop doing these things:

  1. STOP rubbing those eyes: When you rub your eyes, you’re putting a lot of friction on the bonds that keep those lash extensions on.

  2. STOP picking those lashes: Yes! Rolling them between your fingers counts as picking them! Not only can they make your lash extensions fall out prematurely but they can cause baldness on the lash line.

  3. STOP putting eye cream right under your bottom lash line: If you’ve ever noticed a light colored film on the bottom of your extensions, that’s your under eye concealer! The cream will transfer in your sleep and cause a grease to loosen those adhesive bonds.

  4. STOP sleeping on your face: If you can’t, I totally get it! I’m a wild sleeper too, opt for a silk pillowcase to reduce the friction. It will help with your hair too!

  5. WASH YOUR LASHES: If you’re my client, you KNOW I’m going to tell you to wash those lashes. If you’re oily, like me, wash them twice a day! My clients with oily skin have had the BEST retention after washing them twice a day.

  6. BRUSH YOUR LASHES: Use that spoolie girl! It keeps them all in the right direction and brushes debris and dust off those lashes.

  7. USE LASH EXTENSION SAFE MASCARA: Regular mascara has a bunch of oils and minerals in it, opting for a “tubing” or lash extension safe mascara can be a life saver.

  8. ASK your lash artist for a LASH BATH: Everyone’s business is different, I ALWAYS start the service with a lash bath but asking your artist for a lash bath prior to the service can definitely help with your retention.

  9. QUIT sleeping in your makeup: Not only are opening yourself up to acne and premature aging, you’re welcoming poor lash retention, eye infections and styes.

  10. It may be time for a new artist: I HATE suggesting this to people but sometimes poor retention can fall on artists. It can be due to poor prep, poor technique or low quality products.

Lashes are a wonderful luxury and we want them to last! So try some of these tips out and let me know how it goes!

Much Love,
